Soares da Costa

In 1918, José Soares da Costa founded the company in Porto. It began by dedicating itself mainly to the execution of high-quality workmanships. At the end of the 20th century, Soares da Costa was already dedicating itself also to the construction sector, concessions and real estate. It was in the construction, especially with the technology of "cofragem túnel", that the company found the door leading to a continuous growth. In the 1960s Soares da Costa expanded its activity to the whole Portuguese territory and in the early 1980s it began its international expansion. It is also in the same decade that, by taking advantage of the growth of infrastructures in the country that the European Community announced, the company's activity is extended to the construction of infrastructures and is currently engaged in construction, infrastructures and industrial activities related to the construction sector.
