Training Institution Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) Occupation Civil Engineer Biographical Text Mário Barreiros (Lisbon 1929-2013) was a Portuguese civil engineer. He graduated from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) c. 1950. As a graduate student he started working as a draughtsman for the Lisbon City Council. He teached at the Instituto Industrial de Lisboa (today known as Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa). He became responsible for the technical direction of a great number of super and infra structures mainly in reinforced concrete and some in structural steel. During his professional activity, he directed circa 135 stability projects (90% for buildings and infrastructures located in Lisbon).   Between 1965 and 1983, he was responsible for several structural projects, including the ones of Edificio Castil, Edifício Tridente Edifícios Gemini.
