Occupation Entrepreneur Biographical Text Artur Alves Ribeiro was a Portuguese builder and entrepreneur. He founded the Alves Ribeiro Group in 1941 but was already working individually as Artur Alves Ribeiro. He did not reach success easily or quickly. The economic recession in the years following World War II affected the generality of Europe, and Marshall's plan, created by the United States of America to aid Europe's economic recovery, would not begin until 1947. However, during the following decades, the company was able to grow and build important works for the prestige of Alves Ribeiro and of great relevance in the national context.
